Various levels of truth, deception, love, anger, reverence, and humorous sarcasm permeate my current paintings. Through realistic narratives, I wish to provoke without merely shocking. It takes no great gift or artistic acumen to shock for shock’s sake. Arrogance and visual insolence should not be construed as intellect or artistic skill.

Realism enhances the viewer’s ability to interpret the work by easily recognizing the unembellished, literal subject matter and applying it to their own experiences and understanding of that subject matter.
